Post Scrip Print Settings

I bought a Epson Stylus 1400 printer in June and have been using the Adobe Elements 6 program that came with the printer.  I print all different size photos plus text.  About a week ago a window has been showing up after I push the print button that says: "some post script print settings (interpolation, calibration, encoding) will be ignored since you are printing to a non-post script printer"  and now the text does not line up.  The letters are distorted and it looks terrible.  I just spent 4 hours on hold with adobe to have them tell me they don't deal with Adobe 6 anymore.  Anybody have any suggestions?

Jacko,

I think the chances of this problem being solved are very good.  You have two solutions to choose from.

  • The easiest is probably to do a Windows System Restore (from Windows, not from your bootup).  If you know for certain that this worked 7 days ago, you can do a restore to 8 days ago.  Your documents will be safe.  The only reason I wouldn't try this solution is if you've installed any software in the last 7 days that you don't want to install again.

This is available from Start-Programs-Accessories-System Tools-System Restore
  • The other thing you can try is go to Epson's web site, and download the latest drivers fro your printer.

Let us know how this turned out for you.
